its a philosophical dispute between the socialists and the folks who do not see America as all bad. This mirrors some of the 60s debate between black nationalists and mainstream. Black nationalism has gone away but at its core was self help and self evaluation. This is the part of Black Muslim movement that folks say good things about. It doesnt have to have the muslim or black, just self improvement will do.
