What Congressman wants to go home to his District and say that he wants to cut Medicare payments or close an obsolete defense project or put a lot of local teachers or mailmen out of work.

This is exactly what I was trying to point out in another post. Our very elective process attracts politicians and not statesmen. Representatives that try to do the things that are necessary such as cutting programs from our budget find themselves pressured out of office. That's what happens when one Rep stands up, they can even get snubbed by their own party like Rep. Jeff Flake.

It's easy to create a program but nearly impossible to cut one. That's one of the reasons that every American must be a steward of the government and try and keep them from starting more programs that no one can kill.
