Falcon,
I have caught a few minutes of the Tougher in AK series and will endeavor to watch more of it.

The daughter got a moose in Vermont the other year, quite tasty, though I doubt that Vermont moose munch on cabbages, ggg.

I am in the happy circumstance of having one son in law owe me a couple truck loads of wood (various oaks/hickory) from my previous woodsman type assistance and some long term rent of equipment, so which with what I have left over from last year should see us well into year after next.

This winter will be an indicator if we are really turning to a cold phase if the winter turns colder than usual. However, this may not be bad news for you my Alaskan friend as your AK winter weather is often (but not always) opposite than ours in the East.

As for myself, with HO at over $4 a gallon even my small usage is becoming intolerable and I am in the design phase for a major overhaul of the non-wood part of my heating system. Probably I will go for main heat with geo-thermal along with the wood and just use HO for backup backup. Or shucks, just as an investment perhaps, at however much a gallon it will be in the future it truly is getting to be black gold, ggg!

Best,
Roebear
