wow i dont know how every one else is doing but I m now negative 1.3% for the year. reality bites. not enough successful energy and metal plays to overcome the rest of the losers I guess. at least im not long that many financials. I took a late flyer on a few lehman shares. hard to believe they raised $4 billion at $28 a share a couple of weeks ago and now selling for $14 and change.
My guess is they pull through with the help of the fed discount window.

LIZ trades like it's going out of fashion <g>. I am holding very little consumer related stocks. I am concentrating on the high end (UHR.VX) and low end DPS, JBX. FWIW JBX went down 10% today and it's not clear to me why. I also bought a few shares of HEN.DE a German consumer good company (basically a small version of PG) trading at a PE of 10.

Licor companies may be worthwhile but they are still somewhat expensive. RI.PA I looked at but they have too much debt after the 5B Euro purchase this year. RCO.PA (Remy Cointrau) looks much better as they have fairly little debt and it's small enough that it could get taken out eventually.
