I didn't really sense inflation kicking in at all till 2004 and just accelerating since then..It really seemed to be a nonfactor growing at a modest clip for most of my adult life going back to the mid 80's.. Interest rates seemed so damn high in 1987 or 1990 even with costs rising at not more than 3-5% at most and then falling much further during the Clinton years. I envied those with tons of cash getting 7-8% interest, far above inflation, for doing nothing and taking no risk.. Am I off base or do I need to huddle up with Mish to get the real scoop?
