I believe the George W. Bush/08 crowd might see this as divine intervention to keep Mr. Bush in office. They believe in only the original wording of the original Consititution...which now can be shown to have been written by the Founders in their wisdom to give Mr. Bush another term by disqualifying Mr. McCain.

But, the apparent problem stems from the fact that the US Constitution actually does NOT SAY that all "US citizens" are eligible to be President... but that only "natural born US citizens" are.

There are two types of US citizens, naturalized US citizens natural born US citizens. McCain, by virtue of his parents being American citizens at the time of his birth, is the later.
