I know how to make a pooper scooper out of a large detergent bottle. All you need is two dowels or sticks and the large bottle or jug.

It's hard to show here. Visualize the jug with the handle. Cut the handle side off including the pour hole. Slip a dowel through the pour hole into the handle and use this side for a push stick. Cut an x shaped hole in the big half and push another dowel down through it to affix at the bottom. This becomes the scoop part. Then you can go around and push the poo into the scoop with the pusher, and you don't have to bend over.

If you want to pursue this I'll take a picture of ours and send it to you. It works great. We use it for picking up pine cones too.
