My watch is my cell phone. It keeps perfect time. If I ever misplace it, I just call my number and wait for the ring tone.

Swiss watches are not bought for the functionality, they are accessories.
I always wear a watch, would feel uncomplete without. I also own mechanical watches, a Fortis (Flieger Automatic) and a Tissot PRC50 and a Quartz Tissot Ceraten. the latter one is practically undestructible and probably is my favorite watch of all time.

Some good values with mechanical watches can be had from German watchmakers nowadays (Sinn Stowa etc.)
