Curious if anyone here tracks the share price of AMAT versus gas.

When AMAT was at its peak, 1 share would buy about 45 gallons of gas. Today, it is down to about 4.3 gallons.

Well, that statistic gave me some gas!

If only we'd sold our AMAT at the top and bought XOM!

The ratio becomes even more impressive if you compare how many gallons of gas it takes to buy let say a laptop

AST / Toshiba laptop I recall in $4000 range while gas was around a buck and change.

Not even considering the improvement based on Moore's law technology is practically given away for free compared to 20 years ago
