Agreed. It has a "national project". Coalesce the forces and use to a common goal. You just forgot the time dimension. It comes a time that the set of circumstances change and that system that worked so well, no longer generates wealth.

Once it reached that point, the system tries to keep going using what it knows and has. Gracefully return to the insignificance it came from.

This is not denigrating Japan. It is not a judgement. It is just a statement of what is.

Is Japan's "national project" universal? No it is not. Because no other people can reproduce that because, simply, other people are not Japanese.

The US "national project" was much more successful in terms of adopters. For two reasons:

1) It had Hollywood and other assorted forms of pop culture.

2) It did not depend on a specific culture identity since it was created by a bunch of disparate people coming in and forming the country, similar as we did down here.

I am not saying the American "national project" is superior. I am -again- just stating what it is.

TJ doesn't comprehend resources. Is akin to an Austrians or Swiss people understanding space and horizon. It does not diminish TJ. I just stating that man is a product of the medium.

For TJ, resources mean you stand up and get the low hanging fruit. Resources are brutal and hard work. I need to tell him how Gold is 'harvested' for him to appreciate the resource countries.
