As much as I'd personally hate it, I think it's time for the return of the 55 mph speed limit. Reps won't do it. Government intrusion in their precious lives. I'm surprised they respect stop lights.

same here. There are other symbolic things that need to be done as well so as to prevent consumer depression (mental). If we can reduce consumption by 4% with 55 and if we can do some symbolic drilling stuff, not because drilling offshore is the best solution but because its the most easliy understood. Now about the folks who own SUVs. JF solution is to take them out. But most of these folks are families who bought suvs at $3 gas. Not everything in life is an investment and some of these same folks are now suffering with home prices, jobs etc. They need help too not lectures about the free markets from bush or JF.
