I'm a little torn on this issue. On one hand, I feel really bad for people who will lose money. On the other hand, I had a sizeable chunk of change in Etrade's bank, and when Etrade was getting hammered last fall, I did a little research, and moved all that money out of their bank as quickly as possible. I did it, even though Etrade was saying the bank was well capitalized, blah, blah, blah. The stock going from the 20s to 3 was another slap in the face saying something is wrong. I'm no genius, but I did read the newspapers and took some really minimal steps to try to protect my capital. Anyone who has worked hard to save a few $$$ should do the same.
