I don't know the current status. Locally in Nor. Va. many farms were given tax relief. The developers would come in and build near them , the assessor would then come in an assess the adjacent properties and of course the owners who were mostly getting older couldn't pay the taxes. Eventually those would be sold and became housing developments. Some of the old farms are now under Preservation and get used for 4th of July Fireworks-----various gatherings-----many , particularly if the owner was well known, are a part of the Park system or Historic Preservation. mj
