In the S&L collapse of the 80s, 3,000 failed. So by that measure we are doing pretty good I would think.

"William Isaac, chairman of the F.D.I.C. in the early 1980s, cautioned against panic. Bank failures so far pale against the 3,000 bank failures in the 1980s, he said. "

How many do you think will fail? Frankly, I am worried because there is a big one in WA state that may go.....WaMu.

One of bush's brothers was involved in one of those failed S and L's; and so was our ex gov.

Nothing happened to most of them.

Yet they will put a kid in jail for taking a twinki. soemthing wrong with our justice system.

That's not a good measure. You have to look at the total dollars involved, not the number of banks. IndyMac is the second largest bank failure ever. FreddieMac and Fannie Mae are teetering. if those two fail, then we'll be in the midst of the largest bailout in US history. Guess who gets to pay for all that? That's right. You and me.
