Here are my thoughts about all of this Alice in Wonderland world we find ourselves in. It is a bit esoteric, but here is the bigger picture I think we are dealing with: The famous psychologist Eric Fromm said something I have always kept at the forfront of my thinking: "the most neurotic person is he who adjusts successfully to a neurotic system. A perfect example were those who adjusted to Hitler's Germany. We Americans are doing that now big time, but we have done so in the past. Adjusting to slavery, segregation, sexism, etc. Today we are doing it with regard to our government. This war in Iraq for instance has wrought tremendous hardships on the Iraqi's. Millions have fled Iraq, lost their homes, hundreds of thousands killed and maimed. Yet just how aware of all of this are we, really. We name the economy as our biggest concern. Our welfare over the welfare of others which we are responsible for harming! And even though we do not like the war, do we, or our news programs really hold this administrations feet to the fire for taking us into this war through fraud, or reort the true devastation. We do not even allow the dead to be seen by anypne except family as they come back in boxes. Iraq was a truly senseless war. Or take McCains talking points. Economists say the claims of McCain to balance the budget in his first term are practically speaking zero. His economic program will bankrupt us with gigantic deficits. Last, I do not want to speak ill of the dead, but tony Snow stood at the podium and lied for bush day after day after day. Thousands of people worldwide have been injured by these lies. Can a person in this society do such things and get off scott free, or worse be seen as a hero? He did not have to do that!
