BTW, the leasing ban on most of our offshore acreage prevents us from exploiting the natural gas that is likely to be there too, not just the oil.

Yeah, when is Bush going to lift the executive order on drilling the OCS.

Not hardly. We're not self-sufficient in natural gas now and our imports are growing.

Well that explains why no one has made these proposals previously. Then why is Pickens pushing NG in cars? His proposal makes little sense........except if he is trying to stop the wealth transfer to the ME and letting it go to Canada instead.
