Universal language f---u. Shaking fist. Another New York story-----was visiting a friend in the Village------we were all going to a show----friend waves down a taxi, it doesn't stop, this happens several times. Finally one "almost" stops, driver looks at us and begins to drive away---- my New York friend climbed up on the hood of his taxi and pounded on the roof as the driver was beginning to move forward, obviously not wanting to take us. That was all that was needed, the Driver open his door and took us where we wanted to go----for a fee about 6 of us. Not being a New Yorker I watched with a lot of fear and anxiety----but it worked. mj
