Fine but my point still stands........it doesn't have to be a choice of Marx or Smith but rather it can be someone in the middle of both. Personally, I don't trust people who only care about themselves but claim to be doing a service for this country ala Pickens.

Another way to look at it is if he finds a way to make wind energy profitable (for himself and others), he is doing service to others (and the country). So there is no contradiction.

I think you have to give Pickens the benefit of the doubt. He's wealthy enough that he doesn't HAVE to do anything ever again. If he wants to build windmills and natural gas cars, more power to him! There are a lot of far less environmentally good and even BAD things he could do to make more money.

It might be that he's concerned about his country.
