I personally know of two people above 70, whose license was taken away because they failed the test. These people I know, do not have any tickets for unsafe driving. One of them was in an accident some 12 years ago. Very normal people, no drinking problem nothing.

I am not seventy yet and hence do not have first hand knowledge. But I have been told that 70 years and above have to take these tests more frequently than those below 70 and that these tests are more rigorous in that they test your reflexes such as those of the eyes and hearing tests etc.

All this happened in the Legislature after the incident where a 90 year old ran amok in a flea market in Santa Monica.

As far as McCain is concerned, he couldn't fly planes safely when he was younger
