So connecting the obvious dots, China Telecomm has 100 million cdma subscribers without adding any or at least many new subscribers by taking the China Unicom base and coverting its PHS subscribers (43 + 54 million). I agree with another poster that it probably means 100 million new phones since China Telecom was unable to buy CU's inventory (which I guess would include any phones in use that were not owned by the customer, i.e., some prepaid and some phones on plans?). So, 100 million new phones and 100 million cdma subscribers. Now if oil prices will bust (Bush is lifting the presidential off-shore ban today; we need Reed/Pelosi to lift the Congressional ban);and if Apple sells a jillion phones we should be ready for a perfect storm year for the mighty Q.

i smell a hagfish. telecom will probably give all the phs subscribers a new cdma phone and hagfish qcom to accept reduced/no royalties on handsets for priming the cdma pump. ihavenoidea
