"It'll take a revolution in thinking and lots of hard work. There's no quick fix. Freedom isn't free anymore; deal with it. Voting for Obama and keeping one's fingers crossed, is not a sign of hope. It's a sign of self-delusion."

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable.” - John F. Kennedy

I would not be surprised to see a radicalization of not only progressives but many on the right who are fed up. I am finding much more in common with thinking Republicans than I ever would have imagined.

With all due respect too early I found that article by Mike whitney to be pure nonsense. In fact, IMO, he has just about everything wrong. I disagree with almost everything in that article.

For one thing "slick willie" gave us 8 years of peace and prosperity which he fails to mention. We should be so lucky today!

Obama is the real deal and is just trying to win this election. Whitney has no idea whatsoever regarding the difference between Obama and McCain and the difference is night and day.

If we elect Obama he will bring the best and the brightest into government to help solve problems, like Westly Clark, Tom Dashel, Caroline Kennedy, clintons, Edwards, biden, Summers, krugman and rubin, Hagel. Obama respects intelligent people.

McCain would bring in the same neo cons bush has, like Phil Gramn, and the other nutso neo cons and he will put disasters like Scalia and Rhenquist on the suprmeme court and overturn roe versus Wade.

Obama will restor this ocuntry and McCain will finish the job of destroying it that bush began. For one thing McCains tax cuts and war mongering will bankrupt us if he does not cause WWIII first!!
