It certainly doesn't seem too generous for me, but can probably keep a person who doesn't need to care for his/or her kids anymore from starving or living on the streets. The assumption you're making is that every beneficiary getting Social Security benefits really needs them to keep from becoming homeless. Guess what? Bill Gates will be getting Social Security benefits when he retires. Warren Buffet as well. So will Chris, JF, Alghieri, Stevie, and Jim McMannis. You're telling me that every single one of these beneficiaries are just $10-20K per year from being out on the streets? Or do you think that's an acceptable "inefficiency" for the 10-25% of beneficiaries that truly need it? Tenchusatsu
