<<< pre-conceived perception in the lack of integrity of candidates >>>

That pretty much sums up the problem....

Where are we supposed to get candidates that have ethics, morality, intelligence and above all...a sincere desire to actually once elected....work and serve the people who voted them in? Congress? In case anyone hasn't noticed, our congress is filled with self serving men and women that are primarily there to be re-elected. Why are most incumbents almost guaranteed more than one term? The original framers of the constitution assumed that anyone elected to a government post would serve his term and do his public service and then go back to their farm or business. They didn't plan on "career" politicians.

The whole system has broken down and become dysfunctional.

My theory is that the capitalist system has an inherent flaw that is slowly destroying this country. Simply put, its greed. From Wallstreet to the Whitehouse. Ethics? Yeah....right....

How "ethical" has Wallstreet become when schemes like CDO's etc. are created as vehicles to transfer wealth? Naked shorting...you could go on and on. The problem or "flaw" with the whole system is greed. How functional is a congress that has to work around all the lobbyists and special interest groups? They get elected and the system teaches them rather quickly how to play the game. And this is the training ground that we get our "qualified" candidates from. Once in awhile we get a governor for the oval office. In order to even get their parties support they have to be willing to "play"...

I would imagine that serious politicians like Ron Paul are pretty frustrated and disgusted at this juncture. Can you imagine how frustrating it must be to be in a position to actually do something and nobody seems to care or listen? If my theory has any basis in fact, Ron Paul fell flat simply because he rocked the boat and would have hurt...profits.

Capitalism and free enterprise work. But greed has to be reigned in and controlled at some point. Not doing so is destroying this country.
