Proof of WMDs material in Iraq...

Sadly no.. that's not proof. We knew about that yellowcake (which had been provided by France for the Osirak reactor)..

It was fully accounted for by the IAEA and subject to regular inspection.

All we've done is get it out of Iraq.

What we were primarily looking for were chemical weapons (I worked with the ISG for a year), and in particular the rumoured stockpile of some 500 metric tonnes that a high-level Iraqi official, Naji Sabri, had alluded was being hidden by Saddam.

We were pretty sure he didn't have any unknown stockpiles of yellowcake, but we were seeking info that he'd attempted to obtain it surreptitiously.
