Why would this bill affect Virginia? Those in Virginia who are costing us are the illegal immigrants of all ages that must be seen by doctors usually at emergency care centers---not the elderly. There are some doctors who suck on the medicare system-----catering only to the elderly knowing they will get Medicare reimbursement while knowing there is little to do to help the elderly other than placebo medication.

Speaking to the open border group La Raza yesterday in San Diego, Senator McCain said he still supported a comprehensive immigration plan but that we must secure the borders first. Reuters reported: McCain said he wanted to correct the record. He said he had supported the immigration legislation even though his critics said it would be "political suicide." "I took my lumps for it without complaint. My campaign was written off as a lost cause. I did so not just because I believed it was the right thing to do for Hispanic Americans. It was the right thing to do for all Americans. Sen. Obama declined to cast some of those tough votes," McCain said. McCain said Obama had voted for and even sponsored amendments that were intended to kill the legislation. McCain, pressed on the issue by a member of the audience during a question-and-answer period, said a comprehensive immigration plan was still his top priority. "But first, we've got to assure the American people that the borders are secure," he said. A woman was applauded by the audience when she asked McCain whether he would put a stop to "inhumane" raids in which illegal immigrants have been arrested and sent home, sometimes separating them from their families. McCain described the raids as a symptom of the problem. "Of course we don't want anything done that is inhumane," he said.
