Ted, > Again, I repeat.....for the first time in 5 years, the amount of income I have each month is not enough to cover my expenses. Car and house payments have been consistent during that period. The change falls squarely on food and fuel.

Do you still have a Beamer? Might want to sell it and get a 2-year-old used Honda Civic instead.

The Beamer is really not a big part of the problem but it does contribute. There is no one thing.....its just a little bit of everything...food, cable, telephone, internet, health plan, electric, oil and water, etc all have gone up this past year. Suddenly, I hit a wall......I had no money left over at the end of the month.

Sorry to hear about your financial situation, but if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't consider myself "strained." And that's important to realize, especially if things truly get worse before they get better.

My cash flow is strained but I recognize there are people much worse off. This is the first time this has happened to me in my life.....I have always been good with money. While in school, I have lived on a tight budget.....and it was okay til last November. That's when the problem started.....small at first but bigger with each passing month. Now I wish now I had done my student teaching last fall. I would have been selling real estate by now.
