C2, I thought it did show xenophobia in the same way that the Euroserf W-CDMA standard showed North Korean/Albania thinking.

TD-SCDMA is nationalism, national socialist boot-strapping Great Wall of China thinking.

That article showed the paucity of China's "immeasurably impacted" "accelerated" "over-taking strategy" innovative" thinking.

It looked like a joke script satire I would have written.

Innovative thinking in China is specifically illegal and will get people years of prison if not participation in an organ donor scheme. They are trying to get a nation of fawningly obedient serfs who don't need minds because all they need is to learn what they are particularly told to learn and regurgitate in cloned "thinking".

You have probably read that China doesn't need polls, votes, referenda etc because they all think the same and it happens to be the same thinking as pronounced by Hu Jintao and the ruling class.

It's not possible to get creative free-thinking accelerated innovative boot-strapping while having complaisant sinoserfs fearful of splittist individualist thinking. Herds of sheeple don't invent CDMA.

That article explained why China won't be doing over-taking strategy. Working for a low price will only get them so far. Stealing intellectual property isn't the road to nirvana either. Stealing it, putting a few bells and whistles on it [as Europe has done with W-CDMA] and calling TD-SCDMA " a model in revitalizing China with independent intellectual property rights and standards" won't make them great.

Forcing TD-SCDMA on the population has been a dud. Letting 1000 flowers bloom would be better, or maybe a billion. Having black and white cats is nice, but letting them breed like rabbits in any colour they like would get better than black and white tv and black and white cellphones. That's not in China's thinking. Their 50th celebrations were like a Nuremberg rally. I expect that level of "thinking" too. That's where megalomania leads.

If they adopted multiband multimode CDMA2000/OFDMA/WiMAX/Wi-Fi they could leverage a vast home base into a market of 6 billion and billions of machines too, instead of hiding behind the Great Wall of China with their kludged and stolen TD-SCDMA which nobody around the world will want to buy. Qualcomm royalties are so low that the economies of scale of competing technology which has years of lead time will beat them evert time.

China has a lot of people, but it is only 1 billion whereas there are 5 billion of the rest of us. And that 1 billion has low GDP per capita, lower creativity per capita, lower still freedom per capita. That's not a recipe for leading the world. They do have freedom to riot against Japanese and American embassies and freedom to join the army. Some people think there's more to life than being a state serf. Some people think government is for the people, not the reverse. Unfortunately, even in the slightly more liberal "West", that thinking is pretty thin on the ground and freedom is in dribs and drabs with kleptocracy the rule.
