Years and years of destructive policies from government at all levels are (<sarcasm>in the words of a great American</sarcasm>) coming home to roost. The coming debacle will be blamed on greedy businessmen.

There, happy?

Speaking of the great depression, I had the privilege of listening to the stories of that era told by my grandfather. He was a man, like most of his generation that was marked for life by the things that he experienced during that time.

He talked about the time they rioted and passed out the commodities available over some administrator refusing food to a young widow and her children because she was from another district.....see much of that going on today? If you are hungry in this country today, there is a very good chance drugs, mental illness or being lost in the wilderness is one of the factors involved.

He told about the time he hopped on a freight train without a clue where he was going end up.....his desperation was to the point that he figured it couldn't be any worse for him where ever he landed........Other than those sneaking across our southern border, do you see much of that going on today? Compare that with some of our population today that can't be inconvenienced trying to improve their situations by even crossing the street.

As for my grandfather, he went on to father 12 children and became a very contented man as he aged. Even though he had ill feeling for the Hoover administration until the day he died, I suspect he would agree with Phil Gramm's "bunch of whiners" comment, given the conditions of today.

I was out running errands sucking up fuel in my SUV to.........gasp...........BUY THINGS. I kept my eyes out for soup lines and bums on the street.................didn't see any. I did see a lot of road constructions guys............there is a ton of that kind of hiring going on around here, nice for state employment #s, not so nice for schmucks who work at private jobs and watch their paychecks shrink due to rising taxation to pay for pothole fillers on what few decent roads we have regardless of the 9c rise in fuel tax.

But anyway...............I passed a few Value Villages and there were some cars in the parking lots, but they weren't full by any stretch of the imagination.

Big line up at drive through bank window and I had to wait 11 1/2 minutes to get a latte at the drive up Starbucks.............geeshhhhh that po's me off.

I did see 3 help wanted signs...........one at Rite Aid............one at Albertsons and one on the side of a plumbing van that passed me on the freeway. I figured he was running late for a job???

I was commenting to a friend that is seems every administration is plagued by and either pays no attention to or confronts corruption in banking, wall street, campaign-finance scandal, political high jinks, or oval office violation etc....

And I said, Isn't it kind of hypocritical when people ignore scandals that happen when their guy or party or person that agrees with their ideology is in power and rants (whines) when something inevitably happens because humans do that when their arch enemy or ideological opposite is?

Have you set up a non-profit, charitable organization to fund your economic misery yet?

BTW we are results oriented here, we do not like big govt and take no responsibility for what other people do or do not do, so if you have solutions..........please.......bring them on.
