In addition, the advent of ETFs give retail investors like us the ability to participate in broad trends without being married to specific stocks. Plus, if you are convinced enough of the nature of the trend, you can go ultra short or long as the case may be and profit even more.

I think it was Jim Rogers that said 'you only have to be right once per decade'. Find the bull market for the next 10 years and park your money.
