Novl has not found itself yet, beyond netware. They did find Platespin, which is in Microsoft's data centers. It is a question of revenue growth. Cloud computing is the name of the game. HP bought their way to number two behind IBM.

Frankly, Linux has much fewer than Microsoft programmers, so market penetration is difficult with bugs galore in open sourced development. I personally see no improvement immediately on Linux development trend.

On Novel, if they have cloud computing in Netware, things will immediately improve. Drupal, Phpbbs, etc. would be easy to package for their clients. Novl lingered on operating system, virtualization, and security identity too long. While defensive software has its place, companies need offensive software to grow their business. Suppliers of software had to help their customers to grow their business first and foremost.

We are still a stockholder of Novl, because the market is going thru consolidation and technology advancement. Novl might get lucky.
