"Without fiat money, there is no way to take advantage of reserve currency status (in the process destroying it, but over much much time...).

Which means, you cant get something for nothing.

This is a problem if you are addicted to same."

When we leave the gold standard, we also abandon the whole basis of government, ie, to protect our right to life and property. Almost no politicians, or even voters, talk about property rights in the US anymore, and yet this was the prime motivation for the creation of the US, eg, the Boston Tea Party was all about the rejection of the right of the government to use arbitrary taxation, meaning that it was in defense of property.

Since we have lost our anchor in individual rights, our government has become a pragmatic, unprincipled grab for other peoples property, and now looks like there is little else to grab, so our leaders are in a quandary. Most likely we will continue to spiral out of control, giving more power to those who have brought us to this place, rather than returning to the principles which led us to greatness.

'Soros by the way believes this was the design:

Cut taxes --> Have war --> balloon the deficit --> destroy the social programs (because we can no longer afford them due to the ballooned deficit).'

Yeah and debt slavery for the middle class was in there too. All this resulted in the socialized ownership society and meddling into others affairs overseas by the neocons are as liberal as you can get.. So two faced is the world of politics<ng>

its not just about gutting social services, as much as privatizing our tax dollars
