What was the TRUE picture of Vietnam that the media SHOULD have presented??

Ah, lets see. How about reporting the Tet offensive as one of the greatest US military victories since WWII instead of a massive American defeat. That would be a good start. To this day the majority of Americans think we got our ass kicked when in fact the exact opposite is true.

Fuck Walter Cronkite.

Doubtful there were 100,000 American "journalists" covering Vietnam--although agreed that those negatively predisposed news reporters were definitely screwed up for life. Most of their current successors continue to demonstrate the same sort of hate America first mindset. The liberal networks CBS, ABC, NBC(now also MSNBC & CNN)repeated their deceptive methods employed in Vietnam for their coverage of Iraq. Ignore the good news, focus entirely on portraying US troops as losing, being outsmarted by the enemy, and as cold blooded baby killers as well. Even after the surge was an enormous success those networks continued their gloomy drumbeat, until finally the undeniable upbeat facts forced them to admit US success. They then decided to almost completely drop the story. Their stupid modus operandi?.."if it bleeds it leads--good news is not news." Same inept obfuscation of reality is occurring today with the msm reports on the economy.
