It does......it absorbs all the blackness in the sea and makes the water bluer. You didn't know that......I got it from the same book that explains Creationism.

There IS a significant trade off to off shore drilling... and in some places where clean beaches are a huge economic driver that has to be considered.

Exactly. In the case of WA state, its a unique habitat that is worth preserving as well as an economic driver in the form of tourism.
