There IS a significant trade off to off shore drilling... and in some places where clean beaches are a huge economic driver that has to be considered. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Exactly. In the case of WA state, its a unique habitat that is worth preserving as well as an economic driver in the form of tourism. Same with the Gulf coast of Florida. Still I reluctantly support having the states decide. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fly in Florida. I don't think it will fly here either......which means people will have to face the consequences.......at least in the short term. And I think it needs to be presented in that way.
