ggersh,

You are hitting on a long held theme I've been positioning for. I'm not sure what is going to happen after the Olympics, but I expect something to happen. I have wondered what happens when the US consumer really stops the spending spree. We were close to finding out, then Hank popped up with a 160 billion <distribution> of borrowed money to the masses. Presto, and we have a bump and a data point to sell to the world that the consumer is still kicking. When the consumer stops buying, then we find out really how interested the Chinese are in supporting US markets.

I think about the end of the Olympics and what I perceive is a clear mandate from Bush to NOT have a recession on his watch. I wonder what the next six months brings as both objectives come to an end.

I bet 80% of Americans would tell you they believe we are in a recession, and I think 80% of Americans are pretty stupid. Still, Ben told clowngress that we still can't call it a recession.

I'm just fxxxxxx sick of the lies.
