One can call it a "casino" or blame the market or its participants but the fact is that it was a horrible speculation regardless of the result.
The market must seem like a casino for those that make no effort to quantify risk and reward. Everything must appear random and without reason or order. FWIW there is a company that has been mentioned on this thread quite often that has the exact opposite characteristics as the ones that just blew up. Perhaps some may at least get some money back and hopefully they have learned something.
