You're smart enough to know that the street doesn't always put the right amount of emphasis on the news in the short term. Even though 60+ subprime lenders had gone bust by mid 2007, the financials and the markets in general were holding up just fine. We had 6 months warning, but because the markets ignored it for so long you could have sworn it didn't matter. Wrong. It did matter, but it took the markets a long time to digest and ACCEPT what was really happening.

I think it's the same situation with some of the Dollar news these days. It's so bad most people can't fathom worse. FRE/FNM news last friday (while known in advance to many savvy players) should have caused the Dollar to fall decisively below 70. It did not. Once again it'll take time, but the Dollar will go below 70 most likely this year and do so in dramatic fashion. In the short term step away from your investment emotionally and trade what works, not what doesn't.

Easier said than done I know. The last few months have paid off beautifully now that I've stepped away emotionally from gold (so I hope).

Not to say that I can't invest in gold from time to time, but spending much more time on other sectors/ideas. Right now I can't decide if gold needs a C wave down in a overall wave 2 or if we're starting a 3 of 3. Big difference. We'll find out soon.
