Gold will do REALLY well if other central banks continue to use it as part of it's reserve holdings and in fact increase their holdings.

>>Deflation is possible, but the fed and treasury are pursuing a gradual weak dollar policy, seems hard to have both that and deflation.<<

Agree. Throw in unfunded liabilities in Medicare and SS and the "Weak Dollar Policy" is assured.

Secondly, I'll "worry" about deflation when I see an example of a fiat currency that has lasted more than 150 years. It's always politically attractive to try to send the check for today's binge to tomorrow's citizens, which is what inflating the currency and running budget defictis is all about. The Japs were too proud to do it, and the idiosyncracies of their Keiriatsu system prevented them from doing it, otherwise they wouldn't be stuck in a ditch by the side of the road. They also forgot to declare war on someone, which is the traditional "solution" to deflation. Obviously Merkuns have evolved way past that......we're like the barroom drunk spoiling for a fight at the first perceived slight we encounter. Nam? Noriega? Grenada? Saddam? Iran?

WAR! HyUNNNH! Good God y'all...What is it GOOD for?
CURING DEFLATION (Say it again!)
