I don't think it matters that much. I've always bought American Eagles, just seems like they'd be more universally acceptable in case of emergency.

There's a price premium on current-year Eagles for some reason, so people almost always buy "prior-year".

Also Eagles in general are about $10 more than other 1-oz coins (dunno why, call Tulving and ask him if curious). But its $10 more on the buy and $10 more on the sell, the spread is the same, so who cares.

I like the plastic tubes of 20, they make excellent doorstops around the house <g>. Who says Gold is useless?

note, if you buy canadian maple leafs, make sure they are "4 nines". The older ones are "3 nines". The "4 nines" are about the purest gold you can get and demand a premium, for gold content.
