It may be a fair idea for ARU to produce from FDN, but they will get robbed of their fair share. It is typical of backwater people that they take from the front and don't look down the road. Ultimately high tax greedy governments are self destructive. Everyone suffers.

Now whether that means smaller producers get kicked in the teeth too is another question. Some may escape under the radar screen. So far people have lost a lot of land. And they weren't all big guys.

I would say medium sized and large companies will give Ecuador a wide berth. There are other fish to fry. Too much risk all in all. Anything really worth doing will get trouble from some sector. Ditto Vz and other wishy washy countries. Columbia now has a favourable regime to business, but the back country risk is still palpable. mineweb.net

Greystar may make it, but..
