pearly, grow up. if you do not explain, it matters not to me. Sometimes I take the time to explain and sometimes my only favor is to tell what is stupid. The heating effect of the planet by an atmosphere is mis-statement of the process going on. The planet is heated by the sun and some internal processes and gives heat by conduction and convection to heat the atmosphere. A small amount of heat from earth radiation also warm the atmosphere, but most escapes and as the heat is convected up to higher levels it then escapes by radiation. The air is generally cooler than the earth. For cooler air to heat a warmer earth work has to be done. Or you violate the 2nd law. That's the physics. Maybe in pearly world the laws physics are different.
