John McCain is doing EXACTLY the same thing. The TROUBLE with our political system is that you have to SUCK UP to the constituencies in your own party to get a nomination before you can even "start" to reveal what you'd actually do. I remember 1980 when Reagan made such a BIG DEAL about deficits when he was running against Carter, but as soon as he was elected he never mentioned deficits again. That was a wise thing because Reagan became the KING of DEFICITS.
