What are you confused about? I can't make heads or tails of your nonsense. The earth MUST be in radiative balance in equilibrium. There is no other significant mechanism of heat leaving the earth. The earth can undergo transients where radiation is not in balance (which BTW, it is doing right now as it warms up).

Surely in your engineering education you learned how to analyse systems for both transient and steadystate behavior. Your posts seem to indicate you like to confuse the two.

So, do you agree that independent of all the GW theories and data and facts, that the earth's net radiation is in fact identical with or without greenhouse gases, or for that matter, with or without any atmosphere at all in steadystate?
