kenneth...from the article you posted

...."On Friday, the White House announced that President Bush and al-Maliki agreed to set a "general time horizon" for bringing more U.S. troops home from the war, a dramatic shift from the Bush administration's once-ironclad unwillingness to talk about any kind of deadline or timetable."....

Well now Ken this is just not accurate..as I recall President Bush said he would not agree to any time line that the democratic party wanted and I believe he also stated that American troops would stay as long as the Iraqi government felt they were necessary...and apparently the Iraqi government feels that the time is near where they can take care of their own security...this is the way Bush planned it..... now hussein obama wants to take credit...just got no shame just got no shame at all.

Glad he is affirming what Bush and all of us want.

Obama started in late 2006 saying bring the troops home in 6 months----surg won't work etc and now to get him self elected he is saying 'not promising' 16 months.

Obama is politics as usual-----no change.

Maliki would still be hiding under his desk, if the US had followed Obama's Jan 2007 troop withdrawal stance.
