Ah, are you one of those non-degreed Engineers? I've worked with a number of them, and actually respect most of them. Being largely self-taught or having learned one's skills on the job is nothing to be ashamed of.

I have noticed however, that most non-degreed Engineers tend to have startling gaps in their knowledge, because they lack the broad background that a good undergrad BS in Engineering provides as a nice foundation.
