isn't already happening. In the very short term the expectation may drive something to happen but basically wrt to China I take a 'believe my eyes and ears' approach... I also find some second hand opinions valuable but those are not in the main stream typically but acquaintances... Hence my cash levels are pretty high right now... The demographic weight of their new middle class is much bigger even than the boomer effect seems to me... add to that it is much more serious for their government to screw up than our democracies... You don't simply get 'un-elected' and pensioned off... My overall conclusion is that we really don't understand China at all That's worked for so far these last few years ;o) The Black Swan
