Actually, not that much if you're cashing in a smaller amount of gold.

I dealt with a relatively large, savvy dealer here in CO. When I cashed in some physical a while back he gave me spot price for the 4 nines but a slight discount for the 3 nines (if I remember it was approx. 1-3%).
He suggested, when I buy Maples (which I buy for the content), always request 4 nines, especially if the seller quotes the same price for both 3's & 4's.
As you say,it's not really a big deal unless you're dealing in bulk, however I'm very frugal!<G> Even though I bought back when heinz recommended at $272.
