by what stupid logic would you conclude I think HITRAN's original purpose had anything to do with any environmental purpose.

Well, this is what you posted:

Do you know what the foundation need was for the creation of the Hitran models? LOL.....

I am familiar with HITRAN...

Notice all those global_warming terms? I assumed you thought that meant something. Since you are now implying that was not the case, please do tell me why you posted the above. What was I to conclude from it?

All one has to do is take a 60 buck IR meter out on a foggy day and that is quite obvious

Err...and you have tried this on a clear day at 40,000ft? The military continued this because the space age was dawning and they also were interested in remote sensing, including these days looking for missile launches. So they are very interested in IR transmission through the entire atmosphere.

Have you come up with the time constant for your thermal equilibrium that shows dependency on the amount of sunlight entering through the tinted window? I'm very interested in seeing that. I'd actually like you to go on record as saying you are as confident in that little piece of nonsense as you are in your understanding of climate science. Once you make such a stupid statement, I'll go and actually perform the experiment to show what a fool you are.
