This rebalancing act in the indexes is no different in some ways than the portfolio rebalancing I do at least two times a year for my own accounts. Just cutting your losers and letting the winners run or some such other bit of wisdom and bringing some balance to the whole. I think most people do not understand how this skews the general view of the market's health.

To me it seems like a variation on sector rotation by the indexes. I seriously doubt they have had ag stocks in the indexes other than the broadest, for years. I have stayed away from the index funds for years and will continue to do so. I do just fine balancing my own portfolio.
