I do not agree with your statement "Monkton who has been undeservedly cast into the shadows by general academia" is true.
A politically ruling clique at the APS has acted very badly, not general academia.

And of course Pierre and all were ignorant of what is known today. Without details of exactly what distances showed the effect and other physical orientations, their is no way of knowing if some cold air current actually did the cooling. Or did heat radiate away from the thermometer faster than the ambient air transferred it back by conduction with convections.

Do you have info that the experiment has been repeated and quantified in the current or 20th century?
